Mentorship Programme

Welcome to our new and very official Tamasha Mentorship Programme! Over a period of 12 months, one artist will receive bespoke guidance and support on their various artistic and creative endeavours. 

The goal is to offer an individual artist bespoke in-depth advice so they can evolve their work and practice with the support of our core team. 

How it’ll work

  • An artist of the Global Majority will join the company for a period of 12 months, with one session per month on a subject of their choosing. Other sessions are to be arranged at request of the artist and where the team’s time allows. 
  • Support will include but is not limited to fundraising, networking, budget for a show, personal development, career advice and interview prep.

Why now?

All of our Development programmes are for groups of artist training in a specific medium, but we wanted to extend the programme to the individual looking to evolve in their creative practice. The industry can be a lonely place for theatre makers going it alone, so we created this programme to offer ongoing and bespoke support for one artist of any medium via 1-2-1 mentoring with the Tamasha team. 

The current programme will run from May 2022 until May 2023.

Naomi Denny

Naomi is a writer and actor based in London. She is an alumna of Soho Theatre writers lab, where her play ALL THE HAPPY THINGS was shortlisted for the Tony Craze Award 2020. Her first play ESSENTIALLY BLACK was performed at Soho Theatre as a part of Soho Rising 2022, and she is currently developing her latest play, SUNRISE MADELINES. Naomi also writes for audio, and her podcast pitch THE WATERS OF LETHE was shortlisted for Soho Theatre & NBC’s Overheard podcast competition. Most recently, she wrote for Rikki Beadle-Blair’s anthologies LIT and FIERCE. As an actor, credits include: ESSENTIALLY BLACK (Soho Theatre), MARYLAND (Royal Court), PAPER STRAWS (VAULT Festival 2020 – Vault Origins Award), SELECTED RECORDINGS OF US (The Space) and FriEND (Cockpit Theatre).
